  • Our First Remote Pilot Conference

SkyView Aerial Productions LLC attended our very first remote pilots conference.  It was held in Dayton Ohio and was sponsored by Sinclair Community Collegeand was hosted byAUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International)

The keynote speaker was Mr. Ken Kelley from the FAA.  He spoke regarding how the FAA, along with industry leaders are working together to safely integrate unmanned aircraft into the national airspace.  Part of his presentation was regarding the certification process for UAS pilots to fly commercially. The last portion of his presentation was a Q & A session; where members of the audience were able to have their questions answered.

There were some notable people at the conference, such as State Representative Rick Perales (District 73), Brian Wynne, President & CEO of AUVSI, along with Deb Norris, Senior VP Workforce Development & Corporate Services, Sinclair Community College.

Our time there was remarkable. We were able to network with likeminded individuals and share our thoughts on how to make this industry safer and more productive for everyone.  We left the conference energize and are looking forward to what’s to come.

  • Great Event

Well, it's official! As SkyView Aerial Productions LLC as a team, comprised of Angela Melson, Takiela Walker, Josh Walker and yours truly, participated in our very FIRST Bridal Show event hosted by The Be-YOU-tiful Bridal Show of Lorain County.  The event was held in Oberlin Ohio at the newly renovated, sustainably built “The Hotel at Oberlin, Tappan Square” and was amazing to say the least!

The event offered Brides-to-Be the opportunity to prospect various vendors catering specifically to weddings.  It was amazing the significant amount of attention our booth received. Brides, their companions and other close family and friends were very curious about how our services could be used for their Big Day.  The event doubled as a perfect networking opportunity for business owners.  We met people in various industries regarding weddings and were able to share details about our company.

As an added feature of the event, each vendor provided a door prize for a drawing held at the end of the event.  The big winner of the SkyView Aerial Productions $50 gift card give-away, was Brenda Phillips.

In all, it was a blast and we are more than excited for the next one! Stay tuned…

  • Welcome to SkyView Aerial Productions Blog

Hi I'm Daryl, CEO and Senior Remote Pilot of SkyView Aerial Productions, LLC.  This is the first Blog for SkyView Aerial Productions and we'd like to welcome all of our visitors to the page. We hope that you will find the material here engaging and you'll participate in the conversations.

    Chippewa Lake

Well, let's start off with a little background about the company and the people behind it.  The vision for SkyView Aerial Productions, LLC. came to me right after I got "hooked" flying quads/drones.  I started out with the little cheap ones and crashed so much, it almost detered me from flying, but as you can see I kept at it.

The next step came when I decided to fly for money.  It was a very big shock to me when I found out that in order to fly commercially, you had to have an actual pilot's license.  You know, the kind of license you need to fly "real" planes.  Again, I almost said "forget it".  However, the FAA came to my rescue.  This past summer, they introduced Part 107; which provides a licensing method to fly drones commercially without having to have a pilot's license to fly planes.  Don't get me wrong, the test you have to take to get certified is hard, but I passed and SkyView Aerial Productions, LLC. was born.

We've all heard the old saying  "Behind every great man is an even greater woman".  In my case that is absolutely true.  Angela, my wife is also my partner in the company.  Her support in this endevour can't be measured.  She's encouraged me to pursue my dream.  She also brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the administrative side of things.  I've never met anyone so organized.  Another part of her responsibilities is to schedule all of our jobs and events.

Our son Josh is also helping out.  He's a very remarkable young man who is helping the company with our social media marketing and other areas as needed.  From "tweeting" to "snap chatting", he's the guy who knows all about that stuff.  Along with helping out in the company, he's also holding down a full time job, raising a toddler, is a brand new husband and expecting a new baby soon.  Like I said, he's a remarkable young man.

Rounding out our incredible crew is our niece Kiela.  She will be handling all of the company's public facing correspondance, such as press releases and other associated duties. She brings a wealth of knowledge in many areas and we're excited that she's working to make SkyView Aerial Productions, LLC. the very best.

Well, that's a little bit about the company and who we are.  We will definitely be posting more on this blog and on our other social media platforms.  We welcome any questions or comments you'd like leave for us.
